603 communications were submitted to the VIII Iberoamerican Optics Meeting and XI Latinamerican Meeting on Optics, Lasers and Applications to be held in Porto, Portugal, July 22 to 26, 2013 (www.riaooptilas2013.org). As well, a enlarged group of invited experts in all fields of Optics and Photonics, both young researchers and world renowned scientists, is guarantee of an excellent conference next July in Porto.

ETOP2013 is a reference biennial conference that brings together the international community of optics and photonics educators, the academia and the industry, from all around the world to share experiences and information about learning and teaching optics and photonics at all levels.

The SPIE' Student Chapter of the University of Porto, promoted in the frames of SPOF, is organising the reception for the students participating at RIAO/OPTILAS2013 (and ETOP2013). A number of activities for students is being organised in the frames of a SPIE FOCUS Conference.

Número especial de OPA, RIAO/OPTILAS 2013

La revista Óptica Pura y Aplicada (OPA), editada por Sociedad Española de Óptica (SEDOPTICA) pretende estimular el desarrollo del conocimiento en el campo de la Óptica, y en particular en los ámbitos de la investigación científica, la enseñanza y las aplicaciones industriales que reclaman la sociedad actual. Pretende servir también de foro de comunicación en español del campo científico de la Óptica y la Fotonica. Desde el Comité de Edición de OPA deseamos invitar a todos participantes a publicar en nuestra revista artículos ligados a las comunicaciones presentadas al congreso RIAO/OPTLAS2013. Éstos aparecerán publicados en una sección especial monográfica de la revista.
